The science behind
addvantage.

A precise amount of LPG (propane) is injected pre combustion to create a mix of diesel, air and LPG.

LPG costs considerably less than diesel (three-year average is 41% of the cost). In Europe, this equates to average fuel cost savings of around 9.5% or nearly 3 euro cents per km.

addvantage uses telemetry data from your truck to calculate the exact amount of LPG to inject. This precision is how addvantage delivers such exceptional fuel economy – proven in the real world and independently verified by world-renowned Emissions Analytics.

Unique dashboard shows the savings

Our unique dashboard gives you instant access to savings and carbon data.

addvantage has developed a bespoke interface which provides real-time dashboard reporting, including live and historic fuel saving information, together with emission reductions. We can also produce an API so that the dashboard integrates with your own telematics solution.

The system monitors diesel and LPG consumption from the engine and addvantage ECUs and calculates both the monetary benefits based on fuel costs and burning efficiency, as well as CO2 reduction.

The addvantage components in a nutshell

  • 1

addvantage receives information from the truck’s ECU and continuously monitors the available vehicle telematics.

  • 2

The addvantage ACU controls the LPG system. It uses the real-time engine information supplied by the truck’s ECU to calculate the precise quantity and timing of LPG injection.

  • 3

Two addvantage fuel injectors deliver LPG directly into the intake air-stream for each injection of diesel. The truck will reduce the amount of diesel that needs to be injected in response.

  • 4

The LPG system has redundant safety isolation valves that can be shut off automatically, remotely or manually. The system also has a pressure regulator and a sensor monitoring the system. Various tank shapes and sizes are available to any application.

You’ve got questions
we’ve got the answers

What is addvantage technology?

addvantage is next generation hybrid dual-fuel technology. Compared to historic systems, addvantage is much simpler, requires much less LPG to be economic and fundamentally is much cheaper, rewarding customers with an instant ROI.

Is addvantage a fuel additive?

No. Conventional fuel additives are added in small quantities to the diesel in the tank and can deliver small economy gains. addvantage is different. With LPG injected directly into the air intake, addvantage reduces fuel costs by up to 9.5% and reduces CO₂ by 23%.

Can addvantage damage my engine?

No. addvantage only uses relatively small amounts of gas and extensive real-world addvantage use has demonstrated that it has no detrimental effects on the engine. Several users have run addvantage on various vehicles of different types and ages and they have all confirmed that there has been no damage or unusual maintenance requirements for their vehicles.

How much does addvantage cost?

For a limited period, each addvantage unit costs €170 per month, per truck.

Will addvantage reduce CO₂ emissions?

Yes. Independent testing by Emissions Analytics Ltd has proven a reduction in CO₂ emissions of 23%, as well as significant reductions in other harmful emissions.

What is the lifespan of the addvantage system?

Manufactured to exacting OEM specifications by leading global manufacturer TT Electronics, addvantage has a lifespan in excess of ten years. If your addvantage unit has any issues, we’ll repair, or replace it free of charge.

Will addvantage invalidate the manufacturer’s warranty?

Simply put: No. There are specific EU and UK regulations that protect consumers from blanket refusal of warranty coverage for use of aftermarket components. Under the EU Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Regulation 461/2010 (now retained in UK legislation), manufacturers have a legal obligation to honour the vehicle’s warranty when it is serviced outside of the dealer network when non-OEM parts are fitted and when retrofit devices such as the addvantage system are installed. Fitting of retrofit systems and devices onto a vehicle is an insufficient reason for the warranty to be declared invalid.

The only circumstance where an OEM can deny warranty coverage after fitting the addvantage system is where the system can be proven to have caused a consequential failure. In the event of any such failure, under the terms of our contract addvantage provides comprehensive warranty coverage.

The addvantage system has now covered over 10 million miles with no consequential failures.

How has addvantage performed in long-term tests?

Long-term road trials with various haulage operators in the UK and Europe have shown average fuel savings of up to 9.5%.

Is addvantage made in the UK?

The addvantage hardware is manufactured by TT Electronics in Newport, Wales. With more than 4700 employees, operating from 27 locations globally, TT Electronics is a world-class manufacturer and we’re proud of our relationship.

How can we test addvantage for ourselves?

addvantage is available now for a 30-day free trial by qualifying fleets. We’ll install addvantage in four hours and then help you measure the improvements. We’ll also put together a full report showing the savings you’ll achieve when you implement addvantage across your entire fleet.

When will addvantage be available?

Installations are now being scheduled throughout 2023 on a first-come, first-served basis.
